Holy Huskies in the (dog)house!

We happen to have two huskys. One black & white and one red & white and they are the greatest dogs we have ever had. Boxers are beautiful as well, but I have to admit that the ones that have come to our dog park are very agressive and so far three other owners of dogs have had their dogs bitten by a boxer and one dog even lost the tip of his tail. It sounds like Shanie (By the way I love his name as my son's name is Shane) is an exceptional Boxer, but it also sounds like you give him the love and attention he needs and that is why he is so good and sweet. The same goes for my two boys. We give them plenty of love and attention and they are a wonderful addition to our family. They are very sociable and love to meet new people and dogs and will always give people kisses and act like they are their best friends. When we got our first one Cain we did not see any other huskys until he was about 6 months old and now we see alot at the dog park as well. I think people are buying huskys alot more now because of the movies 8 below, snow dogs and snow babies. Unfortunately they don't realize that huskys are not like other dogs when it comes to training and the training process never ends. Our boys are trained and most of the time are off leash. Because of Cain & Frankie we have decided that we will always have a husky in our family. People need to know though that unless you have time to spend with them and really want one they are not meant for everyone. Huskys are very smart but sometimes you need to demand that they do things as most of the time they do have a mind of their own and will try your patience first. My husband and I both work but when we are not working we are with our boys. I bet you would be a great husky parent as it sounds like you have alot of love to give to any dog that would be a part of your family.
