How to clean up after a golden - Always keep towels handy for the drool & puddles (often resulting from dunking their whole face down into the water bowl) and muddy footprints and a good, hardy, reliable vacuum cleaner for sucking up mounds of golden fur on a daily basis. : )

how to prevent/cure hotspots? i know my baby when he isnt shawn in summer like alot of goldens who have sensitive skin they get those sores on them when it becomes moist and hot under their fur. hot spots were a major prob when lochy was a baby. goldens should be shawn in summer cause it gets too hot and can cause these terrible things. it must be agonny to have them. alot of trips to the vet for anti-biotics when he first started to get them : ( its still hard to keep it under control even if u know wat ure doing. like using proper shampoos not an el-cheapo or a human shampoo, always drying them off properly if they ever swim, always wash them after they have been in salt water, keeping them shawn in summer and always keeping them well brushed like getting all the undercoat out etc.
