I was reading the other day about how siberians can mimic human speak. Do anyones sibe here talk? I am working on training Naa-ney to say hello right now. She is so cute.
I did not have to train Yukon to "woo-woo". That is something he did all on his own! If you "woo-woo" back at him, he will tell you all about his day and what he wants you to do. It is pretty funny and cool because to hear him "woo-woo" is much better than listening to a dog bark!! That is the best about this breed, they do not bark, just "talk"!! :)
I am gonna try woo-woo with her tomorrow morning lol that sounds neat. I agree with the no barking my in-laws live with me and they have a doberman puppy that is a constant barker.....
Both Cain & Frankie howl really loud and long when fire trucks go by with their sirens on. It's actually hysterical to hear and watch. Frankie is a talker too. We call him Cranky Frankie because he always talks back to us when we tell him to do something and it sounds like he is complaining or telling us that we can't tell him what to do. Cain doesn't talk at all and only barks when he needs to go outside to make.
Hi there,
our Nanook won't mimic human speak but she'll do the "woo woo" thing and give it full blown wolf howls if you start her off! We find we have to get down to her level and participate (like a pack leader would!) :o)
My Lokee says "a wa wu" ( I love you). It took us some time to train her say that but if she doesn't feel like saying I love you she'll say "wa wu". I give her dehydrated chicken or chicken breast when I was training her. Check our pictures at www.BestDogKennel.com. Thanks

My Luna doesn't want to speak too much. She does the woo-woo when she wakes up and is streaching but she decided that she likes to bark. Barking is not the husky thing but that's how she comunicates right now. When she is outside and wants to come in she just barks. We had husky before and she was talking all the time, she didnt bark at all but could talk to you all day, but for some reason our Luna doesn't do that.
dakota does not do the sibe talk --she does woo alot --I will try to woo woo her back and see if I get any response --great idea -- she howls alot now as she got older
we had a sibe at the park that dakota liked to play with and the owner had her do the vowels a, e, i ,o, u and she did it
it was amazing never knew that they could do that
