Two years ago I lost my fox terrier Devil due to a tumor on his leg, and it still hurts seeing his empty kennel where he used to sleep or hide stolen biscuits... Diana is special, that's true, but we can't easily forget of Devil: he was special too in his own way, he personally taught me to do not being afraid of being myself with the others: he was a pure-breed dog, we found him abandoned due to some distortions at the feets and the fact that he was scared at hunting wild animals, but despite all he just loved meet other dogs and play with them, and for me it was a great joy to see him having fun: he was the mirror of my Happiness!
Just writing to you all those stuff, it's like Devil were still with us, right now, and a little smile comes from me...it's a warm sensation, and yes: I can definitely say that he's living in my heart forever!!! I wish you that you can find again the force of smiling, dear Randy, and your pet family will be ready to help you!!

I am sincerely sorry for the loss of your beloved Missy, after 13 years. I have never lived with a pet for so many years, but I can't imagine how devastating it must be for you and your family. Our pup, Shane, has brought tremendous joy to our life after having to find a new home for our Shih-Tzu. In that sense, I can empathize with you regarding the loss and the emptiness. To me, it was like losing a child.
There are groups for those who are mourning the loss of a pet, which might be helpful in sharing your story and receiving feedback from others who are experiencing your feelings, emotions, etc.
I would love to see photos and videos of Missy if you have any to post. It would be a great opportunity for the PETtell community to "get to know" Missy as she was, and her spirit as it lives on.
